‘아구아 비바 Agua Viva’는 단어 그대로를 직역하면 '살아 있는 물'로 번역되고, 일반적으로는 해파리를 의미한다.
이 두 가지 의미에는 뼈대가 없다는 이번 연구 프로젝트는 클라리시 리스펙토르의 실험적 소설 아구아 비바 Agua Viva에서 연결고리를 찾아보며, 관심있는 분들과의 느슨하고 유연한 연결을 기대한다.
공통점이 있다. 살아 있는 물은 뼈대 즉 특정한 형태를 강제하는 구조가 존재하지 않는 자유로운 세계이며, 그 살아 있는 물에 몸을 맡기고 흘러가는 해파리는 그 세계와 가장 닮은 개체이다. '아구아 비바'라는 제목은 이 둘을 동시에 지칭하며 포괄한다.
형태로부터 자유로운 것, 심지어 세계인 동시에 개체인 것을 그리기. 즉 모든 구조와 경계를 넘어선 그 무엇을 기록하려는 (불가능한) 시도. 보이지 않지만 느껴지는 것들에 주의를 기울여 본다.
Departing from the experimental novel "Agua Viva" by Clarice Lispector, we look forward to exploring fluid connections with those interested.
"Agua Viva" is literally translated as "Living Water," and also refers to jellyfish. These two meanings share a commonality: they lack a skeleton. Living water represents a free world without a forced structure or specific form, while the jellyfish, floating in the living water, resembles this world most closely. The title "Agua Viva" simultaneously refers to or encompasses both.
To depict something that is free from form, even while being a world and simultaneously an entity. In other words, an (impossible) attempt to record that which transcends all structures and boundaries, and to pay attention to what is unseen but felt.

Island Night Reading is a new audio essay series from Unlearning Space Radio. This project explores ecofeminist writing and listening, embodied language, watery, fluid rhythms, through a collective reading practice.
Unlike typical book clubs that require reading in advance, we gather to read texts aloud for the very first time—sharing the rhythm, breath, and unfolding affect of that moment.
